Campus construction
and the Euclid Corridor project will cause many traffic and
pedestrian challenges for Fall Semester, 2007. Please be advised
of the following restrictions and alternate routes:
East 21st
and 22nd Streets at Euclid are impacted by the
construction, and traffic patterns change on a daily basis. Be
prepared for slow-downs and congestion at these intersections.
East 24th
Street is without any traffic control and pedestrian
navigation to the Bookstore is challenging. New metered parking
spaces are available in Lot A east of the Bookstore for
short-term parking. Access to Lot A from Euclid may not
be available. An alternate route to Lot A is through Lot D with
access on Prospect Avenue east of 22nd Street. Tell the
attendant that you are a Bookstore customer when you enter the
Lot.
Euclid
Avenue – Traffic is restricted to a single lane each
way. Avoid driving on Euclid if at all possible. Use Chester or
Payne to the north or Prospect Avenue to the south of campus as
alternate routes. Sidewalks on both the north and south side of
Euclid Ave. have been narrowed and are irregular. Watch your
step!
Pedestrian crossings are open at each intersection on campus,
but are construction zones. Many traffic signals have been
covered for construction and drivers turning onto Euclid from
north/south access roads may not have a signal to guide them.
Please be careful and LOOK BOTH WAYS!
